Description

_______

New Jersey Foraging  Herbal Medicine is a seasonal educational program to teach families about wild medicinal and edible plants that are readily available to us.

It is a way of connecting with nature, the land we live on, and our ancestral roots no matter where we are from.
One thing Covid has taught us is when everything else fails you can count on nature.  However, we can't rely on nature successfully if we don't know how to access all that it has to offer.

The program is intentional in teaching families how to make herbal medicine from the plants that they harvest and to respect and support the wildlife around us.

Senses training

To fully be able to maximize nature benefits we need to fully open up, connect and trust our senses.
We will train our sense of smell, taste, intuition, sight, hearing, and touch through various games.

We will learn about plant ID with a focus on tree medicine and mushrooms. You will learn how to take spore print and how to make herbal medicine with what we find. We will be doing soil testing to ensure the soil is in good standing and we will end our programming with a wild edible cookout.

You can invite friends and family to join us at no charge. Each family will do a presentation on the herbs they have researched. We will also take this opportunity to share with our friends and family the herbal medicine we have made.

The idea here is to be actively present with each other to further our connections and to share with others
